Job Title: Software Tester – Business Analyst

About the Role

We are seeking a Software Tester – Business Analyst who will be responsible for bridging the gap between business requirements and technical solutions while ensuring the software delivered is robust, functional, and meets quality standards. This is a hybrid role, where you will engage in requirement gathering, documentation, and testing activities to ensure business expectations align with delivered solutions.

This role requires a professional who is both analytical and detail-oriented, capable of validating systems through rigorous testing, while also managing client communication and requirement documentation.

Key Responsibilities

Business Analysis:

• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business requirements.
• Translate business needs into functional and technical specifications.
• Work with development and testing teams to ensure clarity on requirements.
• Facilitate workshops, user interviews, and meetings to capture end-to-end requirements.
• Support product managers in defining scope, priorities, and timelines.

Software Testing:

• Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
• Conduct functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
• Track, document, and manage defects using bug-tracking tools.
• Ensure compliance with quality assurance standards and best practices.
• Validate that delivered systems meet both functional and non-functional requirements.

Collaboration & Reporting:

• Act as a bridge between business users and technical teams.
• Provide regular updates to stakeholders regarding testing progress and business alignment.
• Support go-live activities including final validation and issue resolution.
• Prepare training material and user documentation where needed.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent.
• 3–7 years of experience in software testing and business analysis.
• Strong knowledge of testing methodologies (manual and automation preferred).
• Experience with bug-tracking tools (JIRA, Bugzilla, or similar).
• Solid understanding of SDLC, STLC, and Agile methodologies.
• Ability to write clear Business Requirement Documents (BRD) and Functional Specification Documents (FSD).
• Hands-on experience with SQL queries for data validation preferred.
• Strong communication, analytical thinking, and stakeholder management skills.
