About the Role

We are hiring an experienced Software Engineer - 3 (PHP) for a 6-month contractual role (extendable) at our Bangalore office. The role is ideal for candidates with a strong background in backend and frontend system migrations, modern application development, and containerized deployments. The candidate will play a critical role in migrating legacy systems, modernizing applications, and building scalable, high-performance APIs and SPAs.

This position requires deep expertise in PHP (legacy and modern Laravel), React, CI/CD pipelines, and Docker, along with exposure to Golang microservices and event-driven architectures.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead migration of legacy PHP (5.3) and CodeIgniter 1.7.2 systems to modern frameworks.
• Design and develop Laravel 12 (BFF pattern) APIs, middleware, service layers, and containerized applications.
• Migrate front-end systems from jQuery-based SSR to modular React components with React 19, TypeScript, Ant Design, and Vite.
• Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines with Git-based automation (Bitbucket + Jenkins).
• Implement unit, integration, and automation testing with PHPUnit, Pest, Jest, and Cypress.
• Enforce coding standards, linting, coverage, and static analysis for code quality.
• Build and manage Dockerized development environments and deployment pipelines.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design decoupled, event-driven systems.
• Work with Kafka/Beanstalkd for message brokering, publish-subscribe, and queueing patterns.
• Provide support in Golang microservice development using the Gin framework.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Primary Backend Expertise: Legacy PHP (5.3), CodeIgniter 1.7.2, Laravel 12.
• Frontend Expertise: React 19, TypeScript, Ant Design, Vite.
• CI/CD & Testing: Git automation, Jenkins pipelines, PHPUnit, Pest, Jest, Cypress.
• Docker: Development, deployment, container registries, environment configs.
• Additional Proficiency: Golang, Gin framework, Kafka/Beanstalkd, event-driven architectures, microservice testing frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of software design principles, scalability, and performance tuning.
• Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and collaboration skills.
