Job Description
We are looking for a highly skilled Legacy AS400 Developer to join our enterprise application development team. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining, enhancing, and developing applications on the AS400 platform, ensuring stability, scalability, and performance for mission-critical systems. You will work closely with business teams to translate functional requirements into technical solutions while ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and support applications on the IBM AS400 platform
- Analyze existing programs and recommend optimization and modernization approaches
- Work on batch processing, RPG programming, and CL commands
- Conduct code reviews, debugging, and performance tuning
- Collaborate with business analysts and end-users to gather and clarify requirements
- Integrate AS400 applications with other enterprise systems
- Maintain technical documentation and system records
- Support end-to-end development lifecycle including testing and deployment
Required Skills
- Expertise in Legacy AS400 environment, RPG, CL, and DB2
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and performance tuning abilities
- Experience with system integration and modernization projects
- Ability to work in hybrid model and deliver high-quality solutions in tight timelines
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related discipline
- 7 – 10 years of overall experience with minimum 7 years in AS400 development
