About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join the Risk Metrics team at Northern Trust. The role focuses on building and managing data pipelines, analyzing large datasets, and developing metrics to minimize risk exposure in Identity Access Management.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather data and metric requirements.
- Pull data from multiple sources into a centralized platform.
- Design, structure, and model datasets for analytics.
- Develop automated scripts to streamline manual processes.
- Present data findings in an understandable manner for business teams.
- Ensure data governance, security, and compliance standards are followed.
Must-Have Skills
- Strong expertise in SQL (advanced query building, optimization).
- Azure experience (Data Engineering/Databricks/Cosmos DB preferred).
- Power BI for data visualization and reporting.
- Programming skills in Python (minimum 3 years).
- Solid understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and dimensional modeling.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Knowledge of Big Data technologies – Hadoop, Spark, Kafka.
- Incorta experience.
- Relevant Azure certifications (Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate).
