Job Title: Data Engineer – Data Platforms (Azure)

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer – Data Platforms (Azure) to design, develop, and maintain scalable data solutions on Microsoft Azure. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in data engineering, cloud-based data platforms, and analytics, with hands-on experience in building efficient data pipelines and supporting enterprise reporting and business intelligence initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize scalable data pipelines using Azure data services.
• Build, maintain, and enhance ETL/ELT workflows for structured and unstructured data.
• Develop and optimize data models to support analytics and reporting requirements.
• Work with Azure Databricks, SQL, and Python to process and transform large datasets.
• Integrate data from multiple enterprise systems while ensuring data quality and consistency.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, data analysts, and solution architects to deliver reliable data solutions.
• Support reporting and dashboard development using Power BI or similar BI tools.
• Implement data governance, security, and performance optimization best practices.
• Troubleshoot data platform issues and continuously improve data processing efficiency.
• Document technical solutions, data flows, and platform configurations.

Required Skills

• Strong experience in SQL and Python for data engineering.
• Hands-on experience with Azure Databricks and Azure data platform services.
• Strong understanding of data modelling, data structures, and database design principles.
• Experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Knowledge of Power BI or other analytics/reporting tools.
• Understanding of data integration and interoperability concepts.
• Basic to intermediate knowledge of semantic technologies, including RDF, OWL, and Knowledge Graphs.
• Familiarity with cloud-based data architectures and modern data engineering practices.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, or Azure Data Lake.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices for data engineering.
• Understanding of data governance and metadata management.
• Exposure to big data technologies and distributed data processing frameworks.
• Experience working in Agile development environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering, or a related field.
• 3–6 years of relevant experience for Z2 level.
• 6–9 years of relevant experience for Z3 level, including experience designing and implementing enterprise-scale data platforms.
