About the Role :

We are seeking an experienced Technology Consultant with a strong foundation in Ruby on Rails, backend architecture, and scalable system design to join our team. This is a senior strategic role suited for a seasoned technologist who can guide teams, make high-impact architectural decisions, and ensure technical excellence across the board. As a Technology Consultant, you will work closely with product stakeholders, engineering leads, and cross-functional teams to deliver robust, scalable, and maintainable technology solutions. You will play a pivotal role in shaping engineering best practices, mentoring developers, and aligning technology initiatives with business goals 

Key Responsibilities :

• Architect and design scalable backend systems using Ruby on Rails (Rails 6+), PostgreSQL, and Sidekiq 
• Lead the implementation and optimization of GraphQL APIs for performant frontend-backend integration 
• Drive clean code practices and architectural patterns (Service Objects, Presenters, Concerns) 
• Champion engineering principles including SOLID, DRY, and Clean Code 
• Oversee and enforce automated testing (RSpec, Mocha), CI/CD, and static code analysis (RuboCop, ESLint) 
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to development teams, ensuring continuous growth and upskilling 
• Collaborate with frontend teams using Vue.js or React.js, guiding integration and performance optimization 
• Act as a technology advisor to product and business teams, evaluating tradeoffs and ensuring alignment with business strategy 
• Establish and evolve best practices in DevOps, including Docker and Kubernetes usage for deployment and scalability 
• Conduct architectural reviews, performance audits, and lead technical due diligence

Required Skills & Experience :

• 12–15 years of experience in software engineering, with deep expertise in Ruby on Rails 
• Proven track record designing and scaling complex backend architectures 
• Strong command of PostgreSQL, data modeling, and query optimization 
• Experience with Sidekiq or equivalent background job processing frameworks 
• Solid understanding of GraphQL, API design, and integration with frontend frameworks 
• Strong experience applying design patterns and leading clean, maintainable codebases 
• Proficient with testing frameworks (RSpec for backend, Mocha for frontend) 
• Experienced in containerized environments using Docker; Kubernetes knowledge is a strong plus 
• Excellent code review and technical mentorship skills 
• Ability to make informed architectural tradeoffs and influence technical direction at the org level 
• Familiarity with Git workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and collaborative development practices
