PHP + CodeIgniter / Laravel Developer (Contractual)

Location: Bangalore (Work from Office)

Type: Contractual (6 months – extendable based on performance and project need)

About the Role

We are looking for highly skilled PHP Developers with CodeIgniter and Laravel expertise to join on a contractual basis. The role involves modernizing legacy systems, migrating applications to modern frameworks, and ensuring seamless integration with scalable front-end and back-end architectures. Candidates with strong experience in API development, CI/CD pipelines, Dockerized deployments, and microservices are preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Legacy System Migration:
• Migrate old systems from legacy PHP 5.3 and CodeIgniter 1.7.2 to modern frameworks.
• Back-End Development:
• Build scalable APIs, middleware, and service layers using Laravel 12 (BFF pattern).
• Develop containerized applications ensuring efficiency and scalability.
• Front-End Modernization:
• Lead migration from jQuery-based SSR to modular React components with state management.
• Build SPAs using React 19, TypeScript, Ant Design, and Vite.
• CI/CD Automation:
• Design and integrate CI/CD pipelines with Git-based automation (Bitbucket, Jenkins, etc.).
• Enforce code quality using linting, coverage, and static analysis tools.
• Testing & Quality Assurance:
• Write unit and integration tests using PHPUnit, Pest, Jest, and Cypress.
• Implement robust mocking and verification strategies.
• Containerization & Deployment:
• Work on Dockerized development and deployment, including container registries and environment configurations.
• Additional Proficiency (Preferred):
• Exposure to Golang (Gin framework) for building high-performance microservices.
• Knowledge of event-driven patterns with Kafka/Beanstalkd.
• Hands-on experience in decoupled service communication using event contracts.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong experience in PHP (legacy systems) and CodeIgniter.
• Proficiency in Laravel 12, API development, and service-oriented architectures.
• Expertise in React 19, TypeScript, Ant Design, and modern front-end development.
• Hands-on with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Git pipelines, Bitbucket).
• Strong knowledge of Dockerized environments and container deployments.
• Solid testing background with PHPUnit, Pest, Jest, and Cypress.
• Strong debugging, problem-solving, and system design skills.
• Good communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.

Good to Have

• Knowledge of Golang (Gin framework) for microservices.
• Familiarity with Kafka/Beanstalkd and event-driven architectures.
• Understanding of enterprise-grade decoupled service communication strategies.
