Job Description*

Cogentix Systems is seeking a skilled Cloud Database Engineer to manage, optimize, and secure enterprise-grade databases hosted on Azure cloud platforms. This role requires strong hands-on expertise in SQL Server and Azure database services with a focus on reliability, performance, and automation.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage Azure SQL Databases and SQL Managed Instances
• Administer SQL Server environments including installation, upgrades, and migrations
• Implement high availability and disaster recovery solutions (Always On, Failover Groups)
• Perform database performance tuning, indexing, and query optimization
• Manage database backup, restore, and recovery strategies
• Monitor database health using Azure Monitor and Log Analytics
• Ensure database security, access control, encryption, and compliance standards
• Automate database operations using PowerShell, Python, or Infrastructure as Code
• Collaborate with application, DevOps, and security teams
• Provide L3/L4 database support and incident resolution
